Sam Balaam - Resident PGA Professional

With a lifelong passion for golf and years of hands-on coaching experience in Cambridgeshire, Sam brings both expertise and enthusiasm to every session. A graduate of the University of Birmingham with a degree in Golf Management, Sam combines academic knowledge with real-world insight to help golfers of all levels improve their game.

Having grown up around the sport, Sam understands the nuances of golf and takes pride in creating a supportive, engaging environment for learning and development. Sam joined our club in March 2025 where he continues to build strong, lasting connections with members and visiting golfers alike. Whether you're new to golf or looking to refine your skills, Sam offers a personalised coaching approach focused on helping each individual reach their full potential on the course.

Ladies Coaching

Our ladies’ sessions run every Tuesday from 10:00 – 11:30am, offering a fun and welcoming environment for both new and experienced golfers. These classes provide friendly group coaching with general tips across all areas of the game, helping you build confidence, improve skills, and enjoy golf alongside others. Junior Coaching

At The Cambridge Golf Academy, we’re passionate about introducing young players to the game in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. Our junior coaching programme is designed to help children of all ages and abilities develop their skills, build confidence, and enjoy the social side of golf.  

Our Junior Academy, for ages 7 and up, is scheduled to return in March 2026. The Sunday sessions (11:30–13:00) provide a fun, supportive environment for learning, with each class featuring a mix of minigames and skill-building drills. The programme is open to both members and non-members, and all abilities are welcome. Participation can also count toward membership criteria for newcomers to the club. One-to-one sessions remain available to book, and all bookings can be made through the window above.
