I am delighted to be the Seniors’ Captain at Girton Golf Club in 2025.
The Seniors’ section is thriving and we have a full calendar of events in 2025. These include 28 home and away matches against other clubs, with lunch afterwards, a couple of away days and numerous competitions and social events throughout the year. There are also over 20 ‘open golf’ sessions for male seniors on Wednesdays when there isn’t a match, competition or other event. These often involve a team game (and prizes!) and provide some added variety and interest. The players get together in the clubhouse after golf so these events also provide a great way to meet more Club members and make new friends.
The aim of our Seniors Section is to enjoy our golf and to be as inclusive and welcoming as possible to all those who would like to join in, as well as providing some friendly competitive golf.
Girton Golf Club provides excellent golf with a great course and dedicated and committed staff and a very friendly management team and membership.
So if you are 55+ and looking to join a golf club, then do consider Girton Golf Club and get in touch with our Golf Reception and I or someone in the Seniors Section will come back to you. You will be made most welcome.
The Club’s chosen charity for 2025 is East Anglian Air Ambulance - a very worthy cause and the Seniors’ Section will support be looking to support this in whatever way it can.
I wish you all a great golfing year in 2025 - if you see me around the Club do say ‘hello’ – it would be good to meet you.

Girton Golf Club
Seniors’ Captain 2025
Being Junior Captain for Girton is a privilege and an incredible opportunity. I joined the club in 2020 as my first golf club membership and have been playing since I was 6.
As Junior Captain my main goal is to represent the junior section and act as a role model for aspiring young golfers. I look forward to participating in events and competitions, welcoming new junior members and creating an encouraging and friendly environment. One of my goals this year is to attract new members to the junior section and make it as inclusive and fun as possible both on and off the course.
Another key goal is to encourage more juniors to participate in competitive golf. I aim to inspire others to take on challenges, whether that’s entering their first competition or setting personal bests.
Here’s to a memorable year ahead, filled with growth, camaraderie, and a shared love for the game!"
